December Light
written by Iulia Halatz
December is what we are
When love glistens back
the light in the baubles.
We have the White and the Words.
Words that move mountains
tiptoe to touch the stars
whet the wondrous luster of the sea
travel with the wind
glimmer with the moon
Feel not the rejection and foible
of the world.
Words are a soft warm pillow
on which I rest
my threadbare soul
that trod naked
on paths of ice
and thorns.
Words keep my bloodshed
clean on a stave
and in hues of red
a song is made…

Iulia Halatz
She says: “Be the one who cares, make words so disruptive that they create new worlds, hopes and dreams. Even if we are unhappy dinosaurs and find shelter in an Iron Tale or ruminate about feeling too much, whilst declaring colorless apparel, we should take power and strength from our stories.”
Her published poems can be found in The Sudden Denouement Anthology Volume I.
Love is the most difficult and dangerous form of courage. Courage is the most desperate, admirable and noble kind of love.
– Delmore Schwartz
Pietro Antonio Rotari – Girl with a Book

“But, – and there it is, – we want to live and move, though we have no reason to, because it happens that it is the nature of life to live and move, to want to live and move. If it were not for this, life would be dead. It is because of this life that is in you that you dream of your immortality.”
– Jack London, Sea Wolf
Clara Gangutia

“You inherit the autumns, folded like festive clothing
in the memories of poets; and all the winters,
like abandoned fields, bequeath you their quietness.”
Rainer Maria Rilke – Book of Hours.
Cuno Amiet

“We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls.”
– Anaïs Nin

“I’ve got the key to my castle in the air, but whether I can unlock the door remains to be seen.”
― Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
