Just Write

I started writing by chance. I started writing poems for quieting my sorrows and burns caused by difficult waves of life.

Writing is
quieting the burns
from people’s thoughts and deeds
And dissolving
all knowledge
that this will
ever happen…
Writing (an old poem)

One of the most cherished moments in my life is when I bring pen and paper to the beach and watch the waves incessantly, as my mind becomes a canvas for ideas to gallop freely.

In a more prosaic approach, everybody must make a habit of writing, whether is:
Journaling
Notetaking
Goal-writing
Blogging
Storytelling
List-making
Poetry-writing

Writing can clear your mind, refine your ideas, develop your thoughts, and help you see things clearly.
It has been demonstrated that a written goal is half-fulfilled.

Why don’t you try?
Just write!

Writing Prompt

I have crafted numerous declarations of love in verse:

He is fairer than Spring,
Wiser than my unread library,
Tenderer than a feather
in the newly-stirred autumn wind.

Somewhere, There and Anywhere

Somewhere, There and Anywhere
are decent proposals of good-byes.

Uttered in different keys
Of Wisdom, Hope and Grief,

Launched in midnight dreams
and finished in the afternoons.

…That whispers in the wind
Cannot bear
in the prime of spring…

…Sending smells of Trust…
is autumn’s proposal of

Hello…

World Poetry Day!

Held every year on 21 March, World Poetry Day celebrates one of humanity’s most treasured forms of cultural and linguistic expression and identity.

World Poetry Day is the occasion to honour poets, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals, promote the reading, writing and teaching of poetry, foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as theatre, dance, music and painting, and raise the visibility of poetry in the media.

In celebration of this day, I include one of my fondest poems, published in the Sudden Denouement Anthology Volume I.

What can I give you?

What can I give you? I am the blue
as imagined by a blind
and the roots of knowledge
as watered by a scholar.

I am the yellow
wind and the mauve
respond of light
perched
in the ubiquitous trees
tethered in the clouds
that barely scratch
the sky.

I am the green
storm and colorless waves
that wished upon a mountain
to break water in tryst
with the sun.

Not by blindness
we can reorder colors
but by the painting of a soul
in a moment tender
as the liquid moon
is quivering above the forest.

Pay with a poem!

Multiple facets
of benevolence, friendship and kindness
have been engraved
on my heart
whose green veins tremble
with happiness and delight
at seeing, reading and admiring
your exquisite words-of-art and flowing imagery
Here … on Blue Insights.

Your minds drew letters
Upon my soul
I will wear them always
To humble and subdue
All the shimmers of the world.

This is my modest “payment” for the beauty and joy you have given me through knowing you and your beautiful art and my “currency” in thanking you for reading, appreciating and highlighting my words.

Fibonacci’s greed

Numberless thoughts

Numbers are gold
They measure the silence
of centuries
and never pin down
to feeling.

Put Love in a number
It would be 0, 1 or 10.
Put Hate in a number
It would be seven.
Numbers follow
the horizon
and leave us alone
with even, naught and odd.

Numbers are perfect
They order the chaos of galaxies
and split away fear.

On Winter Leave

My latest at Blue Insights, a Medium publication

Today I am on winter leave
As my soul is too heavy
with all the snowdrops,
violets and perfumes of spring…

Your heart is wondrous
and alone
till you find me
aching for lilies of the valley.

Loving

He is fairer than Spring,
Wiser than my unread library,
Tenderer than a feather
in the newly-stirred autumn wind.

“I tell you, the more I think it over, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.”
Vincent Van Gogh

Captivity of Love

Like morning haze
clinging to sycamores
So is my love
Captive in the cave
of swimmers dancing
in the flicker of fires
Casting shadows
of things
that could be…
