“Nothing is more important than summer”- Delmore Schwartz

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Art – Sir George Clausen (1852-1944), Summer Night

I don’t want the summer to end
That is why I try to suspend
My thoughts of winters and grey
Garnering drops of snow and dismay.
I don’t want the summer to end
That is why I am hand in hand
With clouds and planets blue,
Roses and treasures that have no clue
Of corrupt winds and misty reign
In the apocalypse of rain.
I don’t want the summer to end…

Love in the time of summer
is like blistering dreams
Starting shivers in the lonely slumber
Daunted in the arms of dead hours
flying like bats
Until dawn.

Every Thursday comes with a new word. And lately with waves of heat and nights petrified in silent shades.
It is a real scorcher today!
A scorcher = a very hot day.
I like everything about the summer: the beginning of summer, the midsummer days and the dog days.
dog days = the hottest days of the summer.

Enjoy the dog days!
