Loving

He is fairer than Spring,
Wiser than my unread library,
Tenderer than a feather
in the newly-stirred autumn wind.

“I tell you, the more I think it over, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.”
Vincent Van Gogh

“Half-monster, half-dreamer”

What are you after?
Money… Success… Fame…Happiness…Dreams…Love…

We are all after money. Whomever cares not about the money has always had it, consequently has no pattern in measuring having or not having it…
Success is in our blood…The difference between success and failure is vision. “When a man is in doubt about this or that in his writing, it will often guide him if he asks himself how it will tell a hundred years hence.”- Samuel Butler
What problems do your dreams solve? What problems will they solve in 15 years-time?

“Man has always been half-monster, half-dreamer.” — Ray Bradbury

Vision is the combination of the dreams of the dreamer and the fears of the monster. Dreamers fight for their dreams, monsters fight the reality (they dread) and shape it to their own liking. Monsters fight with their skills and claws, dreamers with their imagination. More or less monsters make sure that your dreams survive the harsh cold reality…

So travel with your dreams but never forget about the monster’s perspective. As we are all monsters, and it is far easier to make a kind person believe you are kind than make a monsterling believe in your kindness. Monsters believe in monstership…In the ancient times people believed in mythical creatures as they needed to understand the overpowering forces of nature. We, the (post)modern people, know that the monsters are us. We have all the stories, we have a whole sea of stories which is at times poisoned by non-believing, prosaic tiny sea serpents.
Or the monster might command the suffering of the dreamer.

Maybe this is depression. Not believing in your dreams and feeding them to your monster.

Captivity of Love

Like morning haze
clinging to sycamores
So is my love
Captive in the cave
of swimmers dancing
in the flicker of fires
Casting shadows
of things
that could be…

Love Labyrinth

Labyrinth is called
The love
outstretching and unending
like the gusts
of fadeless despair…
Against the mild dews
in pure mornings.

Tomorrows spread
and dawn always
Whilst the scent of your
Love is immortal.

Love is not love
if created in a feeling
of today.

Hope

Hope is a wounded seagull
perched on a blue cliff
in mid storm.

It is the beautiful girl giving you a smile
and words that smell like midnight lilies.

Hope is the nadir
of this imperfect world.

The Sun Also Rises

The sun also rises
The fields also green
The stories are told
and hold
hearts in hands.

We survive and desire
The Moon to be ours
The Dreams to dawn true
The Time to stand and wait still
for sorrows to burn
in hollow trees
whose dead leaves endure
to give birth
To daffodils…

I Don’t Want the Summer to End

I don’t want the summer to end
That is why I try to suspend
My thoughts of winters and grey
Garnering drops of snow and dismay.

I don’t want the summer to end
That is why I am hand in hand
With clouds and planets blue,
Roses and treasures that have no clue
Of corrupt winds and misty reign
In the apocalypse of rain.

I don’t want the summer to end…

Lest we forget

My latest at Blue Insights, a Medium publication.

You are better than unicorns
and moonshine combined.

You are better than gossamer
and fireflies entwined.

Make sure to notice
the collateral beauty
of dreaming and dreading,
wishing and fearing,
abysses and mountains,
venom and honey
in a kiss
that numbs
and talks to my heart
about the color of a feeling.

Writer for a new Medium publication

I am honored to have been invited to write for another Medium publication, Literary Impulse.
A community space for LITERARY FICTION, POETRY, PHILOSOPHY, POLITICS AND DIALOGUE with a mission of ‘social change through creative endeavours’.

Over the years, writing has shaped my inner and outer life.
I started writing because of pain…
“To write with the truth of pain in your mouth is gruesome poetry … You’ll have to cut out your heart with every word and show it to the world, then hope it will heal. This is how the light gets in, also the dark. To acknowledge fear, defeat, despair and pretend serenity of a lesson learned while patching up the wounds is … Life.” – Tyrannosaurus Writing

Then I kept on writing because:
“You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you.”
Ray Bradbury, Zen in the Art of Writing

Presently I write for the following Medium publications: Blue Insights (to which I am also editor), Poetry’s Home, My Selections, Resistance Poetry, Intimately Intricate.

For me, writing is entering other worlds with my written words as keys.
Words open many doors. In written form or not.

Thank you for reading!

Politics is a thorny path

“Normality is a paved road: It’s comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it.” – Vincent van Gogh

Politics* is an abnormal walk on a path by the thorny bushes over precipices and under hail storms, and no flowers grow on it.
Only “flowers of the mold” or a type of flowers that whither within seconds….

But “What would life be if we didn’t dare to take things in hand?”

One must be a dreamer who is not afraid of the sawdust of dreams on his hands.
More than oftentimes I felt the powder of my shattered dreams in my mouth.
I had gone to bed desolated and depressed. The only ray of light is that I have the power to make a (slight) change…
It is very hard for someone who has always been accustomed to seeking beauty.

There is no beauty, only the constant hustle for leaving something behind.

You have no friends in politics. Only friends with agendas. Distrust at its utmost. People become narcissists because they have a mirror which stares empty in their faces. They cannot see themselves properly, so they create an inflated image of themselves to satisfy their hungry reveries…

Now I know what dreams are made of, smoke and mirrors…
In politics at times there is no silver lining, just hard overpowering awardless work. and Words… Empty words. Words devoid of meaning, words devoid of humane reasoning, words devoid of factuality. Words that add the the emptiness around.
But:
“You’re not to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.”
― Malcolm X

“Let me tell you: the only way to get rid of dragons is to have one of your own.” – Evgeny Shvarts
Or be one… in the Poet’s Garden.

Firstly I am a poet, than a politician. So I must needs grow some green wings and blow some fire. Out of which some flowers will grow.

Vincent van Gogh – The Poet’s Garden III, 1888.
