💥Phrasal verbs are two or more words that together act as a completely new verb with a meaning separate from those of the original words. For example, pick up means to grab or lift, very different from the definitions of pick and up alone.

✅Popular in spoken English, phrasal verbs can be quite confusing because their definitions aren’t always easy to guess—and there are thousands of them. In fact, many of the base verbs used to form phrasal verbs are used in multiple different phrasal verbs with distinct meanings, which can add to the confusion.

The power of love is unparalleled. It should be honored every day, not just in February. I believe love and perfumery share magical abilities that can only be destroyed by the passage of time.

We cherish love in Romania on February 24th, when we celebrate Dragobete, our Valentine’s Day. To be honest, we did not care two straws about Dragobete until Saint Valentine was upon us from other cultures, but this is not a piece on human nature. Dragobete comes from the word “Dragoste,” the Romanian word for love.

Dragobete, the god of youth, joy, and love, has ancient origins. Dragobete, the patron of love and good disposition, was also known as the “Head of Spring,” the “Son of Baba Dochia,” “St. John of Spring,” or “the fiancé of the birds” in Romanian popular tradition, and was associated with the ancient gods of love. The holiday of love was celebrated in Romanian villages through several ritual practices that marked the end of winter and the beginning of spring, when people resonate with the rebirth of nature.

What I absolutely love is that I live not here with you, friends, family, clients, collaborators, and other wonderful people, but in other places where jaw-dropping landscapes and memorable characters shine.

I love the feeling that when writing about a topic, I get a tentacle that draws me into a story that I read a long time ago. That familiar air stops me in my word tracks.

What Is Moral Hazard?

Moral hazard is the risk that a party has not entered into a contract in good faith or has provided misleading information about its assets, liabilities, or credit capacity. In addition, moral hazard also may mean a party has an incentive to take unusual risks in a desperate attempt to earn a profit before the contract settles.

Moral hazards can be present anytime two parties come into agreement with one another. Each party in a contract may have the opportunity to gain from acting contrary to the principles laid out by the agreement.

Anytime a party in an agreement does not have to suffer the potential consequences of a risk, the likelihood of a moral hazard increases.

A big misconception with freelance talent is that you’re paying for their time.

You aren’t.

You’re paying for their availability.

Canceling a booking at the last minute due to a client’s project postponement does not absolve you of the responsibility to compensate the freelancer you have hired.

They have probably adjusted their plans to accommodate your needs and turned down other opportunities to prioritize working with you.

They have made themselves accessible for you, and this is what you are reserving and compensating for.
