Vestiges and claws

We are the only people
in the world
and we hold
the keys to all
gardens and dungeons
beneath a wall…
We live on
Moon’s compassionate light
and greenish profoundness
of Spring.

We may not die
but if we do
your smile will freeze
the light blue
in my eye
and shovel back the trench
to where I quench
my thirst for throbbing hearts
and burning dreams
deposited in chests
that heave entwined.

I meant it in the same way as people say “bad” or “sick” to mean the opposite of the usual understanding of these words—i.e. I found it an effective image when I read it.

I had a feeling when I wrote that that you might wonder what the heck I meant! Slang is a funny thing. Urban dictionary covers it in several entries so I’ll just post the link.

Michael Jackson – “I’m bad” is the example that comes to me most readily. 🙂

Words have double meaning, irrespective of their meanings 🙂
In my comment I was hinting at your latest post about Dr. James Martin Peebles who received inspiration and guidance from a “band of angels”. I am not that “shameless” as to to compare myself with such a person, I stick to my humble ways of listening to the heartbeat of the world and paying attention to the words in the wind whispered by the fairies 🙂
Very good example about Michael Jackson. I am of the opinion of refraining to use “bad” in various contexts 🙂

Oh yeah. Words are like that “hall or mirrors” we see in the movies.
Denotation/connotation. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned that, for the most part, I see words as potentially limitless connotation. But there might be some instances of pure denotation. I’m not sure. 🙂 I think the more aware we become, the more we realize that words and life dance together on various levels. A kind of synchrony, as one thinker put it. Or synchronicity, as Jung put it. When I write it’s like painting in the noosphere. What I’m saying and what people get out of it… well, who can say! That’s the fun. 🙂

Yeah, words are “quirky” vehicles of thought 🙂 And as you say, you brain might be fooled, but not your eyes.
I am constantly in awe at how words have changed the world. Mere words that triggered terrible events.
I like this: “When I write it’s like painting in the noosphere.” That is why I like painters, they speak without words.
What if we do not have words nor the skills to draw? Maybe this is when real fun begins 🙂
I remember a scene from the 13th Warrior, the viking to the scholarly arab – “Can you draw sounds?
