Myth and Mirth

“The poet Rilke looked at a statue of Apollo about fifty years ago, and Apollo spoke to him. ‘You must change your life,’ he said. When true myth rises into consciousness, that is always its message. You must change your life.
Ursula K. Le Guin ~ “Myth and Archetype in Science Fiction”

I look at Vincent van Gogh‘s zest and he spoke to me. “You must see the truth.”

I look at Michael Cheval‘s dance of color and he spoke to me. “You must believe in magic.”

I look at Remedios Varo‘s wild fire and she spoke to me. “You must acquiesce your dark side.”

I’d certainly go along with your first two Iulia. I’m not sure what my ‘dark side’ is. It must be there somewhere I guess but perhaps it needs someone else to see it. If I have favourites among van Goghs, this must be one of them.

Thank you 🙂 I am happy you liked it. I have picked this van Gogh also because it is one of my favorites.
I am not sure about my dark side either but I acquiesce it as it springs from my dual nature (I am Gemini) and my love for the great art of Remedios Varo. He has used his imagination and dreams in some out-of-this-world ways. He definitely lives in another realm.

Now this is really getting crazy (discussion elsewhere): the two friends about whom I have said that if I were not happily married and a lot younger (forget the second condition) I would fall in love with ( I make the distinction between that and loving) are both Gemini. 🤐😘
