Bergamo is a city in the alpine Lombardy region of Northern Italy, approximately 40 km (25 miles) northeast of Milan, and about 30 km (19 miles) from Switzerland, the alpine lakes Como and Iseo and 70 km (43 miles) from Garda and Maggiore. The Bergamo Alps begin immediately north of the city.

The city of Bergamo is composed of an old walled core, known as Città Alta (“Upper Town”), nestled within a system of hills, and the modern expansion in the plains below. The upper town is encircled by massive Venetian defensive systems that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 9 July 2017.

Bergamo is well connected to several cities in Italy, thanks to the motorway A4 stretching on the axis between Milan, Verona, and Venice. The city is served by II Caravaggio International Airport, the third-busiest airport in Italy with 12.3 million passengers in 2017. Bergamo is the second most visited city in Lombardy after Milan.

These principles also apply to writing a CV. A résumé is not an exhaustive list of every job you’ve had or your life story. It’s a marketing tool, much like that hair-care advertisement. Recruiters and hiring managers, akin to party guests, quickly decide if they want to engage further. A study suggests that such professionals spend an average of 7.4 seconds skimming a job application. Here are a few tips to make those seconds count effectively.

Customize your CV for each job application. Highlight the skills and experiences most relevant to the job you’re applying for.

Use a clean, professional layout with clear headings and bullet points.
Stick to a standard font (e.g., Arial, Calibri) and keep it consistent throughout.
Ensure your CV is easy to read by using appropriate spacing and margins.

Start with a compelling personal statement or summary that encapsulates your professional identity and career aspirations in a few sentences.

Highlight your achievements rather than just listing job duties.
Use quantifiable metrics to demonstrate your impact (e.g., “Increased sales by 20%”).

Include a skills section that showcases both hard and soft skills relevant to the job.
Use keywords from the job description to ensure your CV passes through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

List your work experience in reverse chronological order.
Focus on roles from the past 10-15 years, unless earlier roles are highly relevant.

Red Ocean Vs Blue Ocean Strategy

The term “Red Ocean” metaphorically represents a market characterized by fierce competition, where the cut-throat nature of competition turns the ocean bloody red.

In a Red Ocean competition is Fierce.
Companies compete in a saturated market space where growth often comes at the expense of competitors.
The emphasis is on capturing and redistributing existing demand rather than creating new demand.
Companies often face a trade-off between differentiating their offering and minimizing costs.
Strategies focus on either offering lower prices than competitors or providing differentiated offerings to justify higher prices.

In contrast, the “Blue Ocean Strategy” suggests creating new, uncontested market spaces ( blue oceans), rendering the competition irrelevant. Blue Ocean focuses on innovation, creating new demand, and breaking away from the competition.

What is Blue Ocean Strategy?

What Is “The Wealth of Nations”?
“The Wealth of Nations” is an influential text published by Scottish philosopher and economist Adam Smith in 1776. Its full title is “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.” Smith wrote the book to describe the industrialized capitalist system that was upending the mercantilist system.

Smith believed humans ultimately promote public interest through their everyday economic choices. In “The Wealth of Nations” he wrote:

He generally, indeed, neither intends to promote the public interest, nor knows how much he is promoting it. By preferring the support of domestic to that of foreign industry, he intends only his own security; and by directing that industry in such a manner as its produce may be of the greatest value, he intends only his own gain, and he is in this, as in many other cases, led by an invisible hand to promote an end which was no part of his intention.

Known as Calliste (“Most Beautiful”) in antiquity, Thera, (Santorini), an enchanting volcanic island in the Aegean Sea, has a rich and complex history that dates back to the Early Cycladic period around 3200-2000 BCE1. The island was formed after a massive Minoan eruption around 1600 BCE, which reshaped its geological profile2. Santorini was originally part of a larger circular island called Strogili, but the central portion collapsed into the sea due to the volcanic eruption2. Nowadays, it is the eastern edge of an ancient crater that sank into the sea.

Geologically, Thera is the remaining eastern half of an exploded volcano. Its bow-shaped rim and the remnant isles of Thirasía and Aspronísi form an open lagoon that measures 37 miles (60 km) in circumference. In the centre of the lagoon are two active volcanic islets, Néa Kaméni (“New Burnt Island”) and Palaía Kaméni (“Old Burnt Island”). Thera proper consists largely of lava and pumice, the latter of which is the island’s main export. Red-wine grapes are also grown. The lagoon is rimmed by red-, white-, and black-striped volcanic cliffs rising to almost 1,000 feet (300 metres). The summit of Thera is the 1,857-foot (566-metre) limestone Mount Profítis Ilías in the southeast.

I love answering questions on Quora. It is like gymnastics of the mind.

Imagination is a tricky thing. It does not breathe words all the time. Sometimes it is alive, and sometimes it is barely breathing.
When I have ideas, I write in a notebook or on my phone. After that, I transferred my thoughts to my blog.
You do not just sit at your desk and start writing a poem.

I love writing. For me, it is like living in a parallel world of my own making. Nevertheless, the walls of this new realm may sometimes appear blurry.

The idea for the following poem hit me when I looked out the window and felt the mellow shine of autumn glistening into the threes.

I don’t want the summer to end

I don’t want the summer to end
That is why I try to suspend
My thoughts of winters and grey
Garnering drops of snow and dismay.

I don’t want the summer to end
That is why I am hand in hand
With clouds and planets blue,
Roses and treasures that have no clue
Of corrupt winds and misty reign
In the apocalypse of rain.
