It is the worst of times because winter is coming, and it is the best of times as underneath decaying dreams and leaves, spring and joyous days await.
Waiting for spring has glorious snow perfume dissipating into windy mists and cosy thoughts behind blurred windows.

Nevertheless, for Halloween, I light a green candle, preferably in a pumpkin, and I light many, many candles for my departed loved ones and loving people to find traces of my love. Undying…

He was born on the 12th of September, 79 years ago, in Sri Lanka.

The Judgement of Paris

The Judgement of Paris is a story from Greek mythology, which was one of the events that led up to the Trojan War and in later versions of the story to the foundation of Rome.

Eris, the goddess of discord, was not invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis. In revenge, Eris brought a golden apple, inscribed, “To the fairest one,” which she threw into the wedding. Three goddesses, Hera, Athena and Aphrodite, agreed to have Paris of Troy choose the fairest one. Paris chose Aphrodite, because she bribed him by giving him the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Sparta, wife of Menelaus. Paris carried Helen off to Troy, and the Greeks invaded Troy for Helen’s return. This was the cause of the Trojan War. Figuratively, the phrase, “The Judgment of Paris,” can mean the ultimate origin of a war or other event.

The serenity of June roses

This painting steals my heart with its silence, serenity, reverie, and its roses.

It pins down to memory like Pearlovski number 34, the midsummer perfume. It smells like baby rose buds and freshly cut grass..

Perfume is the memory of a feeling. In this case the memory of the happy expectancy of a long summer, guarded by flowers.
There is freedom in the rose buds in the garden. Freedom to shine and smell like heaven on earth.

Letter to my future self

I have discovered the most amazing website, https://www.futureme.org/, on which you can write a letter to the future…

I will and soon, the moment I grasp few free moments for musings and drawing ideas in my mind.

I illustrate with a past photo from 2012. If I were to write a letter to the future, how many things would be true? I can vouch for the fact that in 2012, I would never have imagined a future for me in politics… However, it’s important to remember that nothing is impossible.
